An advanced course in goal-oriented aquatic physical therapy

Objectives
Upon completion, participants will be able to:

1. Describe advanced concepts of selected aquatic rehabilitation techniques, including Watsu, Ai Chi, the Bad Ragaz Ring Method, and the Halliwick Method
2. Discuss the applications of NDT and Sensory Integration principles to the aquatic environment
3. Identify business strategies to enhance an aquatic rehabilitation practice
4. Apply all advanced concepts to optimize their ability to deliver aquatic rehabilitation in an effective and profitable manner

To ensure a quality-learning environment, this class is limited to 25 participants. Registration will be limited to the first 25 paid registrations received. Course tuition is $300.00.

Lunch is provided both days to allow for round table discussion and planned vendor demonstrations.

This 2-day hands-on course is designed to provide a goal-oriented approach to Aquatic Physical Therapy. Participants will learn hands-on aquatic techniques and how to apply them to a variety of patient populations. Business strategies and management of aquatic therapy programs will also be discussed. The course will be held at the Lenox Baker Children’s Hospital Therapy Pool, a facility heated to provide therapeutic interventions. This facility has a variety of mobility aids and therapy tools available. The pool features ramp, step and ladder entry to accommodate patients of varying physical ability. “Advancing your Aquatic Therapy Toolbox” is open to PT/PTAs and OT/COTAs.
